| The Vision Genetics Select Sale held Saturday, November 19th at Millville, PA will go down in the history books as one of the greatest Holstein herd sales ever held. Owner, Corey Wolff was extremely pleased with the outcome with buyers from coast to coast attending the sale. 224 total lots including embryos, half lots and grades totaled $956,900.00 on the day and the average on 185 full lots of registered cattle was an amazing $4,811.90. Cattle sold to sixteen states. Dave Rama advised the crowd estimated at 250 people at the start of the day to save their catalogs as they would be worth money in the future and it appears he was right on. First in the ring and topping the sale at $54,000.00 was lot 103, Dream&Do Outside Cassidy-ET a VG-87 Comestar Outside daughter selling with over $40,000.00 in signed embryo and AI contracts. The buyer was Rick Reuter from Peosta, Iowa. Second high seller of the day was lot #1, Mrs. Schultz BWM Blain-ET for $38,000.00, selling to Richard Schultz from Massachusetts. Sired by Marathon BW Marshall & already scored at VG-88 at 3yr she sold with embryo and AI contracts and ready to flush. Eighteen head sold for $7,500.00
or more and volume buyer for the day was Darren Meyer from New Albin, Iowa. The
sale was managed by The Cattle Exchange, Dave and Merry Rama from Delhi, NY, Dave
handled the gavel the entire day while Horace Backus enticed buyers with his pedigree
expertise. Other members of the sale staff included Rick Verbeek, Tom Harkenrider,
Donald Welk, Tom Schmitt, Ray Leblanc & Steve Pheasant. Dave Rama credits
the sale staff with their tremendous enthusiasm and drive in handling bids from
all over the country. The sale was efficiently clerked by Merry Rama and Dave
Rama Jr. with Deb Pheasant assisting. The fitting staff headed by Jason Monnat
did a fantastic job and included Jason Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Dustin Parker, Pat
McGarr, Ralph Falkena, Kyle Reid and Brian Skarka, Congratulations to Corey Wolff
and the Vision Genetics staff on a very well executed, well managed sale. |
