Vision Genetics Select Sale - held Saturday, November 19th at Millville, PA will go down in the history books as one of the greatest Holstein herd sales ever held. Owner, Corey Wolff was extremely pleased with the outcome with buyers from coast to coast attending the sale. 224 total lots including embryos, half lots and grades totaled $956,900.00 on the day and the average on 185 full lots of registered cattle was an amazing $4,811.90. Nov 11 Two members of the Ho-Crawf Starbuck Lil (VG-85) family topped the Bellvale Holsteins Milking Herd Dispersal & Select Heifer Sale. Ho-Crawf Leduc Lissa (VG-86) led off the lineup selling for $7350. Due in May to Jordan, this young Leduc daughter hails from an 2E-92 Linjet dam preceded by Starbuck Lil. The next dam is an EX-90 Valiant with 138,780M 5255F 4102P lifetime, then a 5E-92, GMD-DOM Standout with over 200,000M lifetime and a 4E-91, GMD Harborcrest Sunshine. Fred Barringer of Copake, NY, purchased Lissa, who sold due 5/06 to Jordan. Lissa's dam, Ho-Crawf Linjet Lila (2E-92), was the second high seller at $5300. She sold to Jamie Lee Crawford of Troy, PA. The sale, managed by The Cattle Exchange, Delhi, NY, featured animals from Al & Judy Buckbee's herd in Warwick, NY, and special consignments from Tyrbach Farm, Richard Engelbrecht and Stonehurst Farm. Oct 29 Odyssey Farm Complete Dispersal Cattle went to 12 states with gross sale of $2,517,375.00 on 1396 head of grade Holsteins, Jerseys & crossbreds. Average price of $1,803.28 on all cows, bred heifers and about 50 open heifers.
First day milking cows averaged over $2,050 on 740 head of grades.

Oct 15 Bulging Barn Blowout Sale Hosted by Mar-Bil Farm with Humdinger Holsteins and Spring-Fed Holsteins. The high selling animal was the entry of Mar-Bil Farm for the final bid of $21,000 from the Empire Associates, Adams, NY (Field of Dreams Genetics, McGarr Farms & Coyne Farms). The offering was the pairing of Lot 1, Mar-Bil Outside Geraden-Et (VG-86 VG-MS), PTPI +1634 and ME of 33,400M and lot 3, her 6/03 maternal sister by Stormatic, with PTPI +1567. Their dam, Mar-Bil Oscar Genoa-ET (EX-92 GMD-DOM) is a maternal sister to Mar-Bil Rudolph Gusto. Gusto is the #10 bull of the breed, with a CTPI +1715. The offering, thus, had six generations of VG or EX dams. The successful bidders chose the Outside daughter, that will remain under the care and management of Mar-Bil Farm. The second high selling offering of the sale was a Red, 12/04 September Storm out of Rama-Way Outside Ronni-ET RC, an Outside daughter of Markwell Leader Rose-ET RC (EX-91). She was the purchase of Oakfield Corners Dairy, Oakfield, NY, and was consigned by Humdinger Holsteins. Heading the list from Spring Fed Holsteins was a VG-88 Cousteau daughter, fresh early August. TyHill Holsteins Milking Herd Dispersal This well-bred and uniform herd featured dairy quality, great frames and sound, attractive udders, with 85 head averaging $2802. With a 107% BAA and a herd average at 893 fat, this group represented 40 years of work by the Tylers, who are keeping their heifers and planning to build back in the months ahead.
The lovely high seller was a just fresh 2-yr-old by Stouder Morty from the heart of the Comestar Laurie Sheik family. She is Tri-Koebel Morty Lawsome-ET, a long, tall, clean boned and fine uddered heifer fresh less than a month, struck off at $19,500 to NYHFA Manager Patsy Gifford who was handling the bid for John Sullivan, Geneva, NY. Jack Gilbert, Clayville, NY, purchased the high selling lot at $4300, a buyer's choice of four ET heifers born in June and sired by Pinehurst Starz. The dam is Ridgedale Messiah Lass (5E-94) with a record of 10-01 3 33,870 3.7 1245 3.0 1015 and lifetime credits of 288,890M 10,216F 8694P. The next dam is a 2E-92 Prestar with over 119,000M. The second high seller at $3800 was Dirigo Emerson Jana-ET, a VG-85 Emerson fresh in May and milking 149lbs. a day. Sept 10 Morrisville Autumn Review Sale: An Encore 2-yr-old due in December to Roy topped the event at $8100. Sam-Sim Encore Lindsey, consigned by Sam Simon, Poughkeepsie, NY, was purchased by The Monarch Syndicate of Homer, NY. Lindsey's dam is the 3E-94 Charles daughter, MD-Carrollton BC Lizzy, preceded by the 2E-91 Savage-Leigh Tab Linda. The second high of the day was Lot #1, Chapel-Bank Frelanc Sela-ET, a 1/04 Freelance bred to Muranda BWM Leader-ET. Sela hails from six generations of VG and EX cows, including an EX-91 Convincer dam with over 44,000M. July 19 Walker Farm Milking Herd and Bred Heifer Dispersal. The respected Walker Farm prefix has been carried by 124 EX cows to date and the Walker Family was recognized as New York's Master Breeders in 1981. Topping their dispersal at $6.700 was Walker-Farm Leduc Clarice, a just-fresh Leduc from a top Walker Farm cow family. Her dam is a VG-86 Encore with over 25,000m, the second dam is a Good Plus Iv-Ann, followed by five generations of VG and EX dams. Ray Cates, Preble, NY purchased the high seller. George and Lorinda Morgan, Walton, NY purchased the second high seller at $5,200. From the same cow family as the sale topper, Walker-Farm Lartist Cash-ET is a VG-83 @ 2Y Lartist from a VG-88 Storm. May 21 The Greenlea Dream Invitational 11, offered the best of individuals from Richard Green’s show string and breeding program and it was that combination that reached the high seller status. Greenlea Rub Marlene-Red-ET (VG-89), the All-American Sr. 2-Yr-Old R&W `04 is out of two back to back EX former R&W All-Americans. She sold on a phone bid from John Kisst of Ripon, CA, for $105,000. Stepping up to the second high of the day was the consignment of Greg Schantz’s Ridle-Side Farm of Lowville, NY. Ridle-Side Ranger Tina-Red was struck off to Lee Emerson of Middletown, DE, for $45,000. Tina, twice All-American R&W is also the dam of Ridle-Side Tina Lou-Red (VG-87) All-American R&W Fall Heifer Calf `03 and Reserve All-American R&W Fall Yearling `04 and Ridle-Side Tina Lee-Red the `03 All-American R&W Winter Calf and `04 R&W All-American Winter Yearling `04 and `03 and `04 Junior Champion WDE’s Grand International R&W Show. May 14th The Spring Sensation Sale hosted by Oakfield Corners Dairy at Oakfield, NY attracted a large crowd and strong prices on Saturday, May 14. Featured were a variety of strong pedigreed young cows, heifers, calves and choices from Jonathan Lamb's extensive breeding and ET program as well a strong consignment from Ziems Farms, Steve, Barb and Tim Ziemba, Weedsport, NY and Kevin & Barb Ziemba's Ziem-Barb Way at Aurora, NY
High seller at $27,000 was lot 1, a stylish March '05 daughter of Hillcroft Leader Melanie (2E-96), three years an All-American and the People's Choice winner for 2004. Arethusa SS Melody-ET, born Mar. 1 sired by September Storm, an outstanding, flashy, correct calf, was struck off on the bid placed by Jeff Woods on behalf of Ernie Kueffner, Boonsboro, MD. She was consigned by Oakfield Corners Dairy.
Leading the Ziemba's family consignments was the first choice female by Braedale Goldwyn from 10 implants due in December from Budjon-JK Gibson Enhant-ET, the Silky Gibson heifer from Krull Broker Elegance (3E-96-GMD, DOM). Consigned with Elkendale Farm, this choice was struck off at $11,500 to Laurie Beggs, Jack Zeh and Jim Putman, Ogdensburg, NY.
The sale was preceded by a pig roast noon meal and introductions of both families. Oakfield Corners operation includes 4000 cows milked on two farms and 4000 heifers, operated by three generations of the Lamb family and the James Veazey family.

April 22 Foxbrook Farm Complete Dispersal. A pair of Integrity full sisters topped the sale. Pamtom Foxbrook Int Nova-ET topped the sale at $21,500. Scored VG-88 and recently fresh in February, Nova is from the one and only Hilltop-Hanover Miss Naomi (2E-94) then Mansion-Valley Niagara (4E-95, GMD-DOM) and Sher-Mar Highmark Hiawatha (4E-94, GMD-DOM). The next four dams were all EX or VG. Nova was purchased by Lloyd & Denise Pease and Reuben & Elizabeth Everitt, Susquehanna, PA. Nova's full sister, Pamtom Foxbrook Int Nila-ET, was purchased for $7700 by Jenny Mills and Maurice Kelsey, Canastota, NY. Nila, a 9/03 heifer, sold as a bred heifer due to Dundee. Miss Naomi had two other daughters sell -- a 3/03 Integrity sold to Jack Pennings, Warwick, NY, for $5000 and a fresh Astro Jet daughter went for $6800 to John Peila Jr., Bernardston, MA.

April 16 The New York Spring Holstein Sale drew a huge crowd of Holstein enthusiasts that resulted in an average of $4,082 on 106 lots (including 6 embryo lots). Lot number one was also the number one highest seller. Fly-Higher Holsteins and Kings-Ransom of Valley Falls, NY offered the first choice from the first successful flush to Goldwyn or Shottle out of Ralma Durham Frisky (VG-88) PTPI +1754 PTA +1108M +37F +40P. With five sons committed to one stud, this young Durham is out of the Ralma Juror Faith (EX-91 GMD DOM). The final bid was $25,100, on a bid from Randy Inman, agent, of Bovina Center, NY.
The second high of the sale was another pick that went into one of the many branches of the Queen Roxy family. This choice of ten pregnancies by September Storm, due 9/15 was out of Wilcoxview BC Sky (EX-91) w/ 3-07 365 28,140 1132 3.3 935. This choice, that is backed by seven generations of excellent dams, was offered by the Screaming Eagle Syndicate, Delhi, NY. The successful buyer was Chip Daniel of Berryville, VA. , with the final bid of $13,000.

Mar 26 13th Elm Park Red Futures Sale. High seller at $14,000 was MD-Valleyvue Chris-Red-ET. A September Storm from a VG-88 37,000m daughter of Monet, Consigned by Calvin Schrock, Oakland, MD, purchased by Edward Broeckx and Marty Kinyon of Lone Rock, WI.
Another September Storm was second high seller of the sale. Sandy-Valley Septem Song-ET *RC, a October, 2004 heifer carries a PTPI of +1739 and sold with a contract for $5000 to Trans-World Genetics with Semex expressing interest in talking to the new owners. Sandy Valley Holsteins, Scandinavia, WI consigned this heifer with Dr. Paul Knier, Oshkosh, WI buying the heifer at $12,500.
Unique to the sale by last in the ring was a *RC Durham granddaughter of Blackrose herself. This extremely well balanced fancy calf was consigned by Elm-Park Farms and Rosedale, Sheboygan Falls, WI and sold for an impressive $11,000.

Henry and Carol Beneke of Millerton, NY, outlasted all other bidders to claim ownership of the first choice of a red female from eight pregnancies due in April and June out of a "Blackrose" daughter and Talent's dam, Markwell Leader Rose-ET (EX-91) The consignment of Lismore Dairy of Arkport, NY, was the high seller of the evening at $8500. Nick Depew of Greenwich was the buyer of the second high of the evening. $8200 was the final bid for this first choice from ten Astronomical implants due 9/05 out of Wilcoxview BC Sky (EX-91). The dam of this offering completes 7 generations of EX dams, with the 6th dam Queen of the Breed I & II "Roxy". The consignor was The Screaming Eagle Syndicate of Delhi, NY. The highest price embryo from the packages offered was consigned by Ridle-Side Dairy of Lowville,NY at a bid of $640 and the four embryos in this package was purchased by Lismore Dairy of Arkport, NY. They were Talent embryos out of Ridle-Side Ranger Tina-Red (VG-88) the dam of R&W All-Americans, Ridle-Side Tina Lee-Red and Ridle-Side Tina Lou-Red.

Sale grossed $1.3 million worth of cattle. Top cow sold for $3,000 and 1st day, 372 cows and 30 bred heifers averaged $1,819 on 402. A good crowd was on hand for 2 of the coldes days in recent memory. Equipment prices were very strong. $1,819 on 402 head.
Dec 10 PA Holstein Holiday Sale: Thorncrest E Solitaire, an extra fancy 12/03 Encore, topped the sale at $4700. Solitaire, a full sister to the 2003 All-American Summer Yearling, Thorncrest E Solitude (VG-87, 2y), is out of an EX-91 Stardust dam w/ 5-06 2 365 31,580 4.5 1433 2.9 903. Consigned by Fieldstone Farm, Delhi, NY, she became the property of Stevie Stoltzfus, Honey Brook, PA. Warren Winter, Hillsboro, KS, purchased the second high seller at $4350. She was Briggskill Rdlph Daylite II, an EX-91 Rudolph due at sale time to Comestar Outside. Daylite was one of several consignments from the Briggskill Dispersal, home of former Holstein classifier, Ray Briggs of NY. Briggskill had a 6/04 BAA of 107.8% on all homebred animals, and have bred 32 EX and 221 VG cows in recent years.

Nov 6th RIDGEDALE FARM SALE: A large crowd attended the sale. The Conard family, Willis Sr and Pat, Wayne and Jen and Judy Conard, had put together terrific cattle from several key families. The high seller at $40,000 was lot #8, Miss Ridgedale Rhonda ET (VG-87, 3y) due in December with her 2d calf, bred to Shoremar James. A lovely young cow with a great dairy frame, this potential fifth generation EX from the heart of the Roxy family is from the 4E-94 GMD DOM C Hanover-Hill-R Rhonda – TW, by Leadman with 1562f, and the next dam is the 2E-92 famed C Hanoverhill Star Roxy-ET, the full sister to Raider. The 3rd dam Roxette EX-GMD-DOM and the 4th dam the Queen of the Breed Roxy herself. Adam Liddle, Argyle, NY was the buyer.

June 5 Edenbrook Holsteins Complete Dispersal The sale featured 50 members of the great Justine family of which 13 generations are still on the farm. KED Allen Juliani topped the event at $24,000. With three maternal brothers in A.I., and interest from ABS, this VG-86 Allen daughter from KED Duster Julienna (EX-93) was purchased by Shawn Charles, Cochranton, PA. Charles also purchased the third high seller at $10,000, a March '04 Hidden-View Best daughter of Juliani. Selling for $17,000 was KED Duster Juliemma-ET, an EX-91 Duster from KED Mark Justine (VG-88, GMD-DOM), the dam of Juror. Juliemma has one son at ABS, and completes nine generations of VG and EX. Two animals tied for top selling honors at $16,000, one of which was Oseeana Sweet Adrienne-ET, a VG-86 Inspiration from Tri-Day Ashlyn (EX-96). Adrienne hails from one of the most successful and prolific cows in the industry, Ashlyn, who has 7 EX full sisters (including 4x All-American Adeen) and 3 EX full brothers. The buyer of this 4-year-old donor dam was Jeff Woods, Madison, WI. Sharing the spotlight as high seller of the day was Hovanec Manat Carena-ET *CV *TL, a VG-85 Manat from Ricecrest Convincer Cara (VG-85). Fresh in September, Carena sold with AI contract interest and was bred to Sosa in March. Her new owner is Dennis Neuhaus, Hoyleton, IL.

Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA. Second high seller of the day at $24,000 was Mac-Acres Fannie-Red (2E-94). Fannie, the unanimous All-American Red & White 5-year-old in 2003, sold to the Fannie Syndicate, c/o Robert Yeoman, Dover, OK. Hailing from eleven generations of VG and EX dams, Cindy sold with several bull contracts to Select Sire Power and Semex, as well as numerous embryo contracts. Monte, William, & Kathy Olszewski of Johnson Creek, WI, were the buyers. The second high seller was Andora Emery Kadillac, a VG-87 daughter of Pen-Col Emery.
